With human factors being a key aspect of modern health and safety management, Ford selected the Safety Climate Tool to best evaluate the safety culture as well as identify priorities and define actions plans. A questionnaire for employees was made and distributed, the results were analysed and shared with employees through a series of focus groups, giving them the opportunity to express their views on the underlying factors identified from the questionnaire as well as the identification of priorities and action plans to address any safety concerns.

Wavin looked to the Safety Climate Tool as a starting point in helping them identify employees’ perceptions on health and safety issues. Seven sites in the UK and Ireland took part in the survey through the Safety Climate Tool, involving around 1,200 people.

UB’s logistic division completed a large behavioural safety campaign in Spring 2009.

The Safety Climate Tool (SCT) was chosen to provide a first impartial analysis of Vale’s safety culture, with a strong focus on key issues. A series of staff focus groups and interviews were run to explore further some areas and to make strong recommendations to Vale leadership team.

    The HSL SCT is a web-based survey and will require a JavaScript-enabled browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer 8 or later. For viewing the reports, a PDF viewer is required.

  • Who owns the terms and conditions - Supplier Assessment Services Ltd or HSE?

    The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL), part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) the regulatory body for health and safety in Great Britain, own the terms and conditions of the Safety Climate Tool. Supplier Assessment Services Ltd has been appointed as the official reseller of the product.

  • What is Supplier Assessment Services relationship with the HSE/HSL?

    In February 2017, Acclaim, Supplier Assessment Services’ Health & Safety Accreditation business, was appointed as the official reseller of the HSL Safety Climate Tool. The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) is part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the regulatory body for health and safety in Great Britain.
